Every so often you come across a series with a premise so interesting that you just feel drawn to it before you’ve even had a chance to check out the source material or a promotional video for the adaptation. This is one of those times.
It’s been announced that the sci-fi romance series Orange will be receiving a TV anime adaptation that will air in the summer of 2016. The manga series that it is based on is already available on Crunchyroll and is in the process of being published physically by Seven Seas (the first omnibus hit shelves last month).
The official plot synopsis for the manga reads:
Everyone has regrets in life. So who wouldn’t take the chance to change the past if given the opportunity? When sixteen-year-old Takamiya Naho receives a mysterious letter, claiming to be from her twenty-seven-year-old self, her life is suddenly thrown into flux. The letter tells her that a new transfer student by the name of Naruse Kakeru will be joining her class, and to keep her eye on him. But why? Naho must decide what to make of the letter and its cryptic warning, and what it means not only for her future, but for Kakeru’s as well.
But who is putting this anime adaptation together? Well, the good news is that the key crew members have already been announced to be as follows:
Animation Production – TMS Entertainment and Telecom Animation Film
Director – Hiroshi Hamasaki
Scripts – Yuuko Kakihara
Character Designs – Nobuteru Yuki
Like I said, I’m already really interested in checking this one out because the premise just sounds so interesting to me. I really hope that it turns out well.
