Earlier today it was reported that MYC & Associates have been given the task of liquidating what remains of Central Park Media’s assets. This includes a long list of anime titles that Central Park Media no longer owns the permanent copyrights to:

Keep in mind that Darkside Blues, Grave of the Fireflies, M.D. Geist., and Now and Then, Here and There have all been snatched up by ADV for release this summer so those are out. But everything else is still fair game! So, who do you think should pick up what? Funimation picking up Yu Yu Hakusho the Movie seems like a no brainer at some point; the long running and popular series Urusei Yatsura, Revolutionary Girl Utena and Record of Lodoss War strike me as other titles that will be re-released at some point as well. Maybe someday someone will pick up Project A-Ko (but let’s not lose our minds here). Some of these titles really may disappear into anime obscurity though! La Blue Girl? Angel Sanctuary? Harlock Saga?

Then again, Virgin Fleet is also included on the list proving that some titles were just meant to disappear into obscurity.
