Chaptered Dating Guide for Lonely Otaku Surfaces
Are you a single, male anime fan who just hasn’t found that special someone? Sure you’ve thought about leaving your figures and body pillows behind for something a bit more 3D. But damn it all, that whole social interaction thing has just made that impossible. Well, speak your words of praise as obviously someone is looking out for you. Titled “30sai no Hoken Taiiku -Koi no Hajimari-” (Roughly: Health & Physical education for over thirty -beginning of love-), this book was just released in Japan giving hope to all you lonely individuals. Providing you with guidance as you attempt to deal with those pesky female types, the book even states very clearly that the ones they’re aiming at is the “pure” that have never even been on a date.
Each chapter begins with a manga which presumably gives the reader an idea about the situation they are about to cover. And with chapters dedicated to how to look at girls, how to ask for a date, how to declare your love and what actually being “a boyfriend” entails I’m sure these are some saucy little tales indeed.
If the title of the book sounds vaguely familiar, you might remember the release that preceded this one back in November titled “30sai no Hoken Taiiku” (roughly: health and physical education for 30-year-old men). That book was essentially “Otaku Sex for Dummies” and almost entirely centered on how to have sex (I’m assuming regular run of the mill sex and not hardcore nerdy sex). Fortunately, I’m guessing that sometime after the release that book someone told the author that in order to get an otaku laid you kind of need to introduce the other person element first; something their target audience wasn’t especially known for.
Not an entirely bad idea but I’m already feeling bad for the poor otaku who has issues with memorization and decides to bring the book with him to his Chapter 2: “Let’s Meet A Girl” situation.
