In a new magazine update, PA Works has revealed the cast and crew for their upcoming 10th anniversary piece, Hana-Saku Iroha. As has been previously revealed, the animation will be produced by PA Works and feature original character designs from Mel Kishida (Sora no Woto). For the actual television broadcast, the series will bring back studio regulars including Masahiro Andou as director (CANAAN, True Tears) and feature TV character designs by Kanami Sekiguti (CANAAN, True Tears, Wild Arms).
Rounding out the primary cast, the lead characters will be played by Kanae Itou (Saten in A Certain Scientific Railgun) as Ohana and Chiaki Omigawa (Mutsumi in Seitokai Yakuindomo, Maka in Soul Eater) as Tsurugi. In the supporting roles will be Aki Toyosaki (Yui in K-ON), Haruka Tomatsu (Nagi in Kannagi) and Mamiko Noto (Ai in Hell Girl, Haruka in Nogizaka Haruka no Himitsu).
The coming of age story centers on a 16 year old girl from Tokyo who works at a hot spring inn over the summer while deciding what she wants to do with her future. While there she makes new friends with the other girls working there and has experiences which will shape her life and future. This one has been listed as ‘in progress’ since revealed over the summer but still doesn’t even have a tentative premiere date listed. It looks like this series is starting to take shape though I’d love to see animation samples before I let myself get too excited (or possibly disappointed) about it.
