Last year was a good year for eroge as the studios in Japan began to break out new materials to edge each other out. First up it was Teatime who announced that they would be releasing Love Death 4 with penis tracking using webcams. Not to be outdone, Illusion announced that were working on Real Kanojo which features realistic 3D CG animation and three lead characters. Since the announcements though, only a few images and a demo for Real Kanojo have made their way out to the public making it hard to see which one looks better. Luckily while surfing around today, I found out that there is more to be had!

New samples and demos have been posted for both Love Death 4 and Real Kanojo. Over on the official website for Love Death 4, there is a downloadable demo (click the second, larger banner to d/l the .zip file). Unfortunately after I downloaded the demo, I had absolutely no idea how to install the damn thing. If you do happen to download the demo and get it working, share what you think in the comments.

]Over on the official Illusion each character intro page has been updated with a short character video. Finally getting to see more of this game than just long splashy splashy beach scenes with Ai, a new video has been posted to each of the intro pages of the characters. Unfortunately each video is only 13-16 seconds long but they do a good job of introducing each girl’s personality: Ai seems to be the giggly idoltype (though is that a high school uniform she’s wearing?), Aya is the aloof girl next door but can cook great dinners and Kaori is the strict teacher type.

So, do any of these helped to get you looking forward to the games? From where I’m sitting, Real Kanojo looks good but Love Death 4 just sounds silly at this point.

How many times have you been sitting in front of your computer playing an eroge when any female character exclaims something regarding “your” phallus? Now, how many times have you sat there and thought ‘heh heh heh, if only I could REALLY show her my stuff. Then she’d really have something to get excited about.’ Well, thank the gods that modern technology has caught up to your ecchi thoughts!

In a new preview for their upcoming title, Love Death 4, eroge studio Teatime has revealed their groundbreaking new technology (though lens shattering might more appropriate if you get too close). Essentially, Teatime will be taking face tracking technology to a whole new level with what I am unofficially dubbing penis tracking. Using shape recognition software, players will be able to hold their junk in front of the camera which will recognize it as such causing female characters in the game to react accordingly. The technology being used is based off face recognition software first used in Teatime’s earlier release, Tech48.

The story itself seems to be fairly low key; a hero who has lost his family to accidents suddenly has a beautiful idol appear before him wanting to protect him from further harm (as always, summary corrections ARE welcome). No word on how Teatime’s new penis tracking technology will factor into this. When the face tracking technology was released with Tech48, the studio stated that they wanted to “create a link between reality and the game world”. So does that mean that these girls are going to laugh at you much like any other real woman would if she saw you waving your penis around in front of a webcam? No word on a release date.
